Thanks for your support, patience, advice and information you gave over the nine days of the IDC, and also the specialties, which were loads of fun, especially after the intense, tough IDC. But as promised, it was worth going through it for the 'easy weekend' (IE). You were right, it was a breeze (but still nerve racking!).
\
Now, as an instructor, I hope to put to use the tips and advice you gave me. I would certainly recommend you to friends etc, and will always have fond memories of the last few weeks (especially the DPV dive - the most fun I've had in ages!!).
\

Without a doubt the few days of the IDC are very challenging you have to work hard, \
but what you put in to it you certainly get out of it. Working as a team is the key, helping each other through it.\

By the first lunchtime the IDC classroom was like a group of old friends catching up... \
We had many laughs, ups and downs but all of it was worth it. The support not only from each other, \
but especially from our Course Director, Jurg Dahler was endless.

THE IE
\
...when the sequence of events was explained I soon realised I knew exactly what to expect and had nothing to fear.\
...I now realised quite what the IDC was all about. I wouldn't have been standing receiving my certificate ... if it wasn't for all that hard work. \
We were pushed hard to achieve the highest level. We were taught to be good instructors and not just to pass the necessary exams.
\
Even now working as an instructor I take a bit of my Course Director with me. \
Every time I come across a new scenario there is always a little voice in my head \
reminding me how to logically progress through the situation. The whole experience \
of the IDC was unforgettable I learnt a lot and made great friends. \
Now I realise so much of what I learnt isn't just related to diving. \
We explored management, general teaching techniques and much more. \
Already I find myself adapting other aspects of my life as a result.

I was working in Cyprus as a divemaster when Jurg told me about the IDC.\
Since I love diving and want to make a living out of diving I was very interested and signed up.
\
The IDC started on the 15th of June. We had a small class, just 4 IDC candidates (by now I should say friends).\
The IDC was great, the best course you can ever take. There was a perfect balance between \
the time we spent in the classroom and the time we spent in the water.\
It was hard work because if Jurg teaches you something, he wants you to learn it perfectly.\
So a lot of hard work but also fun!!! That is what diving should be all about, having fun! \
Also when you are teaching, you should enjoy it; be serious about what you teach \
but enjoy it at the same time. That, to me, is the most important lesson learned.\
Because, only if you enjoy something yourself, you can bring it on to other people, share the enthousiasm.\
Now, a year later I'm still enjoying teaching diving. Even so much I'm \
going to give up my office job and want to be a dive instructor full time.\
Doing the IDC with Jurg thought me to live up to the standards, and made me \
realize even more how important they are. We have spent a lot of time together \
underwater as well as in the classroom. You learn from each other and help \
each other out. Real teamwork.\
As a result of that, we all passed our IE with succes!\
Can't say we weren't nervous but we were well prepared for our IE.
\
Just one thing if you’re considering doing an IDC with Jurg... \
make sure you're not on a diet.... but other than that, I'm sure you will have the \
best education you can get and have lots of fun!!!\

I completed my Staff Instructor course in June 2005.

I found the IDC to be very professional, informative, high quality but most of all lots of fun.
\
I finished the course as an IDC Staff Instructor but took so much more with me than that.\
Having saw first hand and having the pleasure of working with the quality Instructors that have completed an IDC run by Jurg I would and have no hesitation recommending (or insisting!) anyone to complete their IDC or Staff Instructor programs with Jurg.

I did my IDC at Coral Bay Divers in July 2006 and was privileged to be a \
part of the first IDC conducted there.\
\
The course was challenging and a lot of work but I had an amazing time and enjoyed \
every minute of it. Although a new dive centre, Coral Bay Divers\' \
facilities to second to none - the IDC classroom is large, air-conditioned and \
stuffed full of enough audio/visual presentation equipment and diving equipment to \
satisfy anyone! If you'd forgotten a training aid in any presentation, you merely \
had to look around and somewhere on the wall was something you could use...and then \
pretend you had included it all along...! \
\
The staff were a great help to us and the Course Director, Jurg Dahler, can \
only be described as a credit to the diving industry. Jurg was an excellent \
CD and never ran out of pearls of diving-related wisdom during the 3 weeks \
that I was there. \
\
I would recommend an IDC with Jurg to anyone who's serious about getting the \
best training possible and having fun at the same time.\
\
As for the IE (It\'s Easy) weekend, I took one in Whittlesey, UK in August 2006. \
Although the water was slightly colder, the visibility was appalling and it rained \
every day I passed and actually had a good time as well. There were no hidden \
surprises and nothing Jurg hadn\'t prepared me for, except for the fact that it\'s a tad \
easier than the IDC!\

Coming from a business training background myself the IDC conducted by Jurg was a \
refreshing addition to the professional skills set I already had. \
Jurg, devoted to promote the philosophy of diving made the theoretical \
part of the studies into intense disputes over the materials. These \
discussions were inspiring and made understanding and studying simple \
and enjoyable. Even during the hottest times (when the air conditioner \
couldn\'t take the heat any more) the high energy in the classroom kept us \
focused on the training presentations. \

It looks like leading by example is an inborn ingredient of Jurg\'s character. All the skills and \
tasks both underwater and while running the dive centre operations were looking \
effortless and worth copying and implementing in ones own business. \'Make it look easy!\' \
was not just a result of countless repetition; it was the result of mastery. And this, by the \
way, was visible in how Jurg\'s whole team was functioning. \
